Tell us about your blog!

I blog about my style and things that inspire me. Fashion is everywhere, you just have to look twice.

When + Why did you start blogging?

I have changed my blog a couple of times. I started blogging in December 2009, but I only had two visitors a day. I started writing in English last April, and changed my blogger name from loving-sunlight to The Style Sandwich last June. That was the moment the amount of visitors and comments grew very fast.

I started blogging because I had to share my thoughts and inspiration with others. It’s a part of my life now.

What do you love most about blogging?

I love the inspiration I get from it. I can spend hours reading blogs and comment on posts I love. I have collected a list of blogs I check almost every day. Their style is amazing.

Who are your biggest fans?

I guess I have to say my mum, haha. She snaps almost every outfit post, and she loves it. But I have some great friends too. They give their honest opinion so they are a great help. I also have a few bloggers who comment on almost every post. I always try to send something back, because I feel so flattered every time.

What has been your most popular blog post so far?

My outfit post “Walking the dog”, I think. It shows pictures of me with the dog of my friend. I’m wearing a striped top and one of my blazers.

What camera do you use?

I use a Casio digital camera. It belongs to my father, so I have to be very careful with it. That’s very hard for me, because I broke the last one too. Shame on me.

Describe your style

My style is very girly, comfy and classic. I adore wearing high heels! I’m quite short, so I wear them with almost everything.

What are your favourite items in your wardrobe?

I love my blazers! They are very versatile and I wear them all the time.

Who are your style icons?

I get inspired by Andy from Style Scrapbook and Chiara from The Blonde Salad. Their style is impeccable so I check them every day. I also love the style of Olivia Palermo. I don’t like her in The City, but I have to admit; that girl has style.

Favourite A/W 10-11 fashion/beauty trends :

Definitely color blocking! I get happy by thinking about bright colors in the pouring rain. I hate winter, so I need something to cheer me up . I also like lace, leather, faux fur and shearling jackets.

Who is your favourite designer and what would you like to ask her/him?

Karl Lagerfeld! I would like to know how much his family and friends inspired him in his work, and how much they supported him.

Favourite fashion quote?

Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening. – Coco Chanel.

What’s your favourite recipe? (if you don’t/can’t cook, give us your fave restaurant + fave dish J))

The father of my friend Hanna makes the best pizzas in the world! He makes them with salmon, tuna or mozzarella and they are incredible. Seriously, I think they are even better than the ones I have eaten in Italy.

Favourite T.V. shows?

I’m addicted to Grey’s Anatomy. I have to watch it every day.

Most fashionable movie(s)?

No doubt, The September Issue! I’ve watched it a few times now, and I feel amazingly inspired afterwards.

Favourite night out?

Having sushi with my friends, going out and watching the sunrise. Perfect.

What’s your vice?

I should work-out more, but I’m too lazy. I do a dance class once a week and that’s it.

What gets you through a rough day?

Chocolate and a bunch of friends!

Tell us one of your ambitions…

I’m a very ambitious girl. I write a lot, so I would freak out if someone would publish a book written by me. Just the idea of having my very own book in my bookcase…

What do you love most about life?

The fact that everyone is different. No one is the same; we all have different looks, feelings, reactions and styles. You have to be proud of it.

What’s your motto / mantra?

If a door closes, find a window. It means that if something doesn’t happen the way you wanted it to happen, you have to find another way to achieve your goal. Dreams are meant to come true.

A nice fashion blog to start the week !

La blonde Alix et la brune Isa ont décidé d’unir leurs talents modesques dans un blog à quatre mains : « Shine a town » qui promet – comme son nom l’indique- d’ illuminer nos grises mines d’hiver …

Sélections de must haves de saison, recettes pour se les approprier avec le plus grand naturel, adresses pour modeuses insatiables et photos de looks qui font saliver…: les deux jeunes filles concoctent au quotidien et avec soin un blog mode gourmand à consommer sans modération !

Et parce qu’aucun bon plans ne leur échappent, les deux parisiennes  partent régulièrement à la pêche miraculeuse chez « New Look » et y dénichent de sacrés trésors… C’est de bon cœur qu’elles ont répondu à mes questions pour newlookblog : Merci les filles !

I et A : On a eu envie de partager avec d’autres fanatiques de mode nos lubies, nos craquages et nos avis sur les différentes tendances.

- Comment définissez vous votre style ?

I : Question difficile car je sais pas si on peut vraiment définir un style, on aime autant être rock un jour, que « preppy » ou « bohème » un autre. En ce moment Alix est dans sa période  » preppy  » et moi plutôt  » vintage » mais ça change tout le temps au gré de nos humeurs !
